Responsibilities• Lead a team of QA Engineers in testing enterprise Java-based multi-tier enterprise applications in the area of electronic commerce.
• Design, plan and execute software qualification during release testing cycle.
• Provide status updates on team progress as well as ongoing assessments of quality and risks of the product release.
• Review and provide feedback on product requirements, technical specifications, and release schedule.
• Design and implement automation strategies for automatic product qualification.
• Provide technical advice and assistance to junior members of the team on automation strategies and coding options.
• Review and provide advice on test case specifications, test plans, bug reports, and setup/configuration issues.
• Support development technical leads, support engineers and professional service engineers with technical issues related to the product.
• Communicate with Product Management to ensure product requirements are understood, implemented and properly validated.
Requirements• 5+ years software QA experience;
• BS in CS or related field / experience;
• 2+ years of experience leading a team of QA engineers;
• Knowledge of various testing techniques, approaches and best practices;
• Extensive experience on test plan and test case authoring;
• Experience defining tasks, allocating resources, establishing milestones, prioritizing work and product defects and communicating status during the product release cycle;
• Experience with bug tracking and test case management systems;
• Able to mentor junior members, give technical advice and direction;
• Experience designing and implementing automated system and unit level test scripts;
• Experience programming on Java or other object oriented language. (Experience on JUnit, JTestcase, Cactus is a plus);
• Experience writing UI automated scripts (Quick Test Professional experience is a plus);
• Must be a strong team player, detail oriented, self-motivated and perform well under pressure;
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, debugging and analytical skills;
• Ability to participate in product requirements and technical or design discussions;
• Solid experience on installation, configuration and debugging of n-tier enterprise applications;
• Working knowledge on a variety of platforms including UNIX (Linux, Solaris and AIX) and Windows;
• Industry experience in SQL and Relational Database, working knowledge in at least one major RDBMS vendor (MSSQL, Oracle, DB2, MySQL);
• Working knowledge of internet/web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, XML, JSP, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, and DOJO;
• Experience using/configuring Web Servers (Apache, IIS, Sun One), Application Servers (BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Red Hat JBoss);
• Knowledge of build and code-coverage tools (Ant, Clover, etc) is a plus;
• Experience with the following types of enterprise applications (Content/Version Management, eCommerce/Merchandising, eMarketing/Email/Personalization, Enterprise Search, Knowledge Management, Data Warehousing/OLAP Reporting/Data Analysis).
